Four of Africa’s brightest stars are set to light up Frankfurt as the World Table Tennis (WTT) Champions get underway, with a massive USD 500,000 prize purse and the continent’s first-ever WTT crown up for grabs.
In the men’s singles, Nigeria’s Quadri Aruna headlines Africa’s charge as he faces France’s Simon Gauzy, while Egypt’s Omar Assar takes on a tough opponent in world No. 12 Dang Qiu of Germany.
On the women’s side, 17-year old Egyptian wonderkid Hana Goda, ranked 26th globally, will square off against South Korea’s Kim Nayeong, as her compatriot Mariam Alhodaby battles Germany’s Nina Mittelham.
