Anders Lind Defeats Quadri Aruna at 2025 WTT China Smash

Nigeria’s table tennis icon, Quadri Aruna, suffered an early exit at the prestigious 2025 WTT China Smash after losing to Denmark’s Anders Lind in the men’s singles Round of 64.
In a thrilling contest, Aruna pushed his opponent to the limit, but Lind held firm to claim a straight-sets victory. The Dane triumphed 12–10, 13–11, 13–11, with each set decided at deuce.
The result means Aruna, Africa’s No. 1 and Nigeria’s highest-ranked table tennis star, will have to wait for another chance to make a deep run in the WTT Series. Lind, on the other hand, advances to the Round of 32 as his impressive form continues in China.
The WTT China Smash 2025, one of the biggest events on the World Table Tennis calendar, features the world’s best players battling for ranking points and global recognition.
