Aruna Quadri Forced to Withdraw from WTT Champions in Montpellier After Injury Scare

Written by on 30 — 10

Nigeria’s table tennis icon, Aruna Quadri, was forced to pull out of his first round clash against France’s Alexis Lebrun at the ongoing World Table Tennis (WTT) Champions in Montpellier 2025, after experiencing discomfort in his movement.

The encounter had promised to be an exciting showdown, especially with Quadri’s impressive record against Lebrun, having defeated the Frenchman twice in their previous meetings. However, things took a different turn when the Nigerian star began to struggle physically, prompting his early withdrawal after losing the first set.

The unfortunate development means Africa’s campaign at the WTT Champions Montpellier has officially come to an end, as all the continent’s representatives have now been knocked out of the tournament.
