Atalanta Set to Offer Ademola Lookman Improved Contract

Italian Serie A side Atalanta are preparing to offer Ademola Lookman an improved contract in a bid to reward the Nigerian forward after recent tensions surrounding his treatment at the club.
According to reports, the new deal would not alter Lookman’s current contract expiration date of 2027, but it would come with a salary increase and the addition of a €40 million release clause.
Lookman, the reigning African Footballer of the Year, has been a key figure for Atalanta and he is back in training following their heavy defeat to PSG in the UEFA Champions League. The Super Eagles star has made himself available for selection ahead of this weekend’s Serie A fixtures.
Atalanta’s move is seen as an effort to both secure the future of one of their most valuable assets and to reaffirm their confidence in the Nigerian international, who remains a fan favorite in Bergamo.
