FCB Nyasa Big Bullets forward Babatunde Adepoju has received his first ever call up to the Malawi senior national team, the Flames, ahead of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Equatorial Guinea and São Tomé and Príncipe.
Head Coach Kalisto Pasuwa included the prolific striker in his squad following Adepoju’s impressive form in the TNM Super League, where he is among the leading goal scorers. The forward, currently on loan from Venda Football Academy in South Africa, has been a standout performer for the defending Malawian champions this season.
According to reports from Malawi media, this marks Adepoju’s maiden national team call-up after successfully completing his nationality switch, which now allows him to represent Malawi at international level.
The inclusion of Adepoju adds more attacking depth to Pasuwa’s side as the Flames aim to strengthen their position in the World Cup qualifying campaign.
