Bayelsa United and Warri Wolves have emerged as early frontrunners in the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season after impressive victories on Matchday 2.
In Yenagoa, Bayelsa United secured a convincing 2-0 win over Barau FC, with Wisdom Magbisa converting a penalty in the 59th minute before Ofem Inoyayi added a second to seal back-to-back wins.
Warri Wolves matched that performance with a 2-0 triumph over Enugu Rangers. Godwin Oham opened the scoring just before halftime, while Prince Eboh doubled the lead in the 77th minute to keep their perfect start intact. Both sides now sit at the top of the table with six points each.
