Written by on 18 — 03

Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has unveiled a 23-man roster for this month’s international friendlies against Iran and Jordan. Notably absent from the squad is goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, while key players such as captain Wilfred Ndidi, forward Ademola Lookman, and newly invitee Yira Sor—formerly of 36 Lion FC—have been included.

The Super Eagles are set to face Iran on Friday, March 27, in Antalya, with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 PM local time. Their second matchup will see them take on Jordan’s senior national team on Tuesday, March 31, with kickoff set for 8:00 PM local time.

Originally slated to take place at the 17,000-capacity Amman International Stadium and the 62,000-capacity King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Amman, the matches have been relocated due to the ongoing military conflict in the Middle East.

Chelle’s selection also includes Italy-based goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, defender Oluwasemilogo Ajayi, midfielder Frank Onyeka, and forwards Simon Moses, Samuel Chukwueze, Akor Adams, and Paul Onuachu.

Making their first appearance in the squad are Scotland-based defender Emmanuel Oluwasegun Fernandez, Germany-based forward Philip Otele, and KRC Genk’s Collins Yira Sor, a former youth international who once played for Lagos based club side 36 Lion FC. Meanwhile, Greece-based goalkeeper Adeleye Adebayo has also been recalled to the team.
