Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that playmaker Cole Palmer has sustained a fractured toe following an accident at home, ruling him out of several crucial matches.
Speaking ahead of the club’s upcoming fixtures, Maresca revealed the unexpected setback:
“He is probably not available for Burnley, Barcelona or Arsenal, for sure. Unfortunately, he had an accident at home where he hit his toe, it’s fractured.”
Palmer had been nearing a return from a groin injury, but this latest issue has halted his recovery.
“He was almost back from the groin injury, but now he has this small problem,” Maresca added.
The injury comes at a challenging time for Chelsea as they prepare for a demanding run of games. Palmer, one of the club’s standout performers last season, will now miss the upcoming Premier League outing and key clashes in Europe and domestically.
