Nigerian sprint prospect, Chigozie Rosemary Nwankwo, began her Africa Youth Games campaign in emphatic fashion on Friday, posting 11.88 seconds in the Girls’ 100m heats to record the second fastest time overall.
Nwankwo, the reigning African School Games Champion, looked composed and powerful out of the blocks, reaffirming her status as one of the continent’s brightest emerging sprinters. Her strong opening performance in Angola has heightened expectations that she could replicate her championship winning form on a bigger stage.
