Gateway Games 2024: Delta Leads Medal Table as National Sports Festival Intensifies in Ogun

As the 22nd National Sports Festival “Gateway Games 2024” continues in full swing in Ogun State, Delta State has surged to the top of the provisional medals table with a commanding 41 gold, 19 silver, and 18 bronze medals, totaling 78.
Bayelsa State is hot on Delta’s trail, currently holding second place with 71 medals, including 33 gold, 20 silver, and 18 bronze. Rivers State and the host, Ogun, are in a close tie with 48 medals each, while Oyo State rounds out the top five with 43 medals.
Although currently in seventh place, Edo State has amassed an impressive 77 medals, just one short of Delta’s total, thanks to a high number of silver (38) and bronze (31) finishes. This positions Edo as a serious contender in the race for overall victory.
Other notable performances include Lagos State with 34 medals, and Osun State with 36 medals.
With several events still underway and medals up for grabs, the competition remains fierce, and the final standings are far from decided. Athletes from across the country continue to dazzle as they set the stage for a thrilling finish.
