As fight night approaches on December 19 in Miami, former world champion Amir Khan, joined by Nico Ali Walsh, grandson of the legendary Muhammad Ali, has issued a stern warning to Jake Paul about the grave dangers he faces in his upcoming bout with Anthony Joshua. According to Khan and Ali Walsh, the fight is far from an ordinary spectacle, it could carry life threatening consequences.
Ali Walsh emphasized the inherent risks of the sport, stressing that “boxing is not a game,” calling on fans and observers to pray for Paul’s safety. He underscored that serious injuries or worse are not out of the question in a properly sanctioned heavyweight fight.
Khan went further, arguing that Paul’s own team should have protected him from such a dangerous mismatch. He warned that “one punch can always change your life,” and that the 28 year old is effectively stepping into the ring with his life on the line.
The fight scheduled for eight rounds with 10 ounce gloves officially pits Paul, a former YouTuber turned boxer with limited experience at heavyweight, against a decorated former two time world heavyweight champion. Joshua, who can weigh up to 245 lb for the bout, presents a formidable challenge.
