Head coach of Kwara United, Tunde Sanni, has expressed confidence in his team’s readiness as they prepare to open their 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign against Ikorodu City.

Speaking in an interview ahead of the season, Coach Sanni assured fans that the Afonja Warriors are fully prepared to deliver positive results.

“We have prepared very well for our matches, and we are looking forward to a better result. I promise that we are going to do well, and victory will be ours,” he said.

Kwara United will also be flying Nigeria’s flag on the continent, with a CAF Confederation Cup first-round clash against Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko. The coach welcomed the opportunity to play league games before facing the Ghanaians, describing it as vital for match sharpness.

“We thank God that at least we are going to play one or two league matches before our first match with Asante Kotoko. That will put us in better shape for the encounter. We will be ready for them,” he added.

Sanni further called on supporters to stand firmly behind the team as they embark on what promises to be a challenging campaign both at home and abroad.

“My message to the fans is to believe in the team. The same way they believed when many did not expect us to win that trophy, but God gave us victory, they should believe again. Let them give total support to the team, not to me. If we all come together, we will get our rhythm early and go far this season,” he stated.

Kwara United will begin their NPFL season with a home fixture against Ikorodu City before turning attention to continental duties.
