Nigeria Confirmed as Africa’s Representatives for 2026 IFAF World Championships

Nigeria’s men’s and women’s national flag football teams have officially secured their places at the 2026 IFAF World Championships, following confirmation from the International Federation of American Football (IFAF).
The announcement comes after Nigeria dominated the inaugural IFAF African Flag Football Championship held earlier this year, winning both the men’s and women’s titles to emerge as continental champions. Their victory earned them automatic qualification as Africa’s representatives at the global tournament.
The achievement marks a major milestone for the Nigeria American Football Association (NAFA), which has continued to push the rapid development of the sport across the country. With the 2026 World Championships set to attract elite teams from around the world, Nigeria will now begin preparations to compete on the global stage.
