Nigeria has recorded a groundbreaking moment in global winter sports as Simidele Adeagbo and Kewe King made their official debut in the two woman bobsleigh event at the IBSF World Cup in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy.
The appearance marks another milestone for Adeagbo, already a trailblazer as the first African to compete in bobsleigh at the IBSF World Championships and the first African athlete to win an international sled race.
Now paired with Kewe King, the duo are believed to have become Africa’s first ever two woman bobsleigh team to compete on the IBSF World Cup circuit , a feat that elevates Nigeria’s growing presence in winter sports.
Their debut represents a decisive step forward for the continent, signaling renewed ambition, progression, and visibility for African athletes on the global winter sports stage.
