Nigerian Born Sprinter Now World 400m Bronze Medalist for Bahrain  

Ebelechukwu Antoinette Agbapuonwu, born to a Nigerian mother and a Bahrain born father, made headlines in 2014 when she switched allegiance from Nigeria to Bahrain, adopting the name Salwa Eid Naser.

Since then, she has established herself as one of the world’s finest quarter milers. A serial winner on the international stage, Naser is currently the World 400m Bronze Medalist, a remarkable feat achieved at a time when Nigeria continues to struggle for relevance in the women’s 400m event.
