Nigerian Forward Sikiru Alimi Completes Move to Algerian Side JS Saoura

Written by on 29 — 08

Former Remo Stars striker Sikiru Alimi has sealed a move to Algerian top flight club JS Saoura, marking his return to North African football.

The 29 year old forward was instrumental in Remo Stars’ historic Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title triumph last season, making over 30 appearances and contributing crucial goals and assists. His consistency also earned him a place in Nigeria’s squad for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), where he scored once in three matches.

Alimi is no stranger to football outside Nigeria, having previously played for Stade Tunisien in Tunisia and Maghreb Fès in Morocco. His latest move reunites him with the North African game, where his physical presence and eye for goal are expected to strengthen JS Saoura’s attacking options.

JS Saoura, who finished fourth in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 last season, are keen to mount a stronger challenge in the new campaign. The club’s management believe Alimi’s experience and proven record in Nigeria and abroad will give them an extra edge in both domestic and continental competitions.
