Written by on 19 — 09

Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) sides will begin their quest on the continental stage this weekend as the 2025/26 CAF Inter-Club competitions get underway.

In the CAF Champions League, Rivers United are away to Aigles du Congo at the Stade des Martyrs, Kinshasa on Saturday, September 20, 2025, with kickoff set for 3:30pm local time. The Pride of Rivers left Nigeria earlier in the week for what will be their first ever meeting with the Congolese outfit.

On Sunday, Remo Stars will host Comoros champions US Zilimadjou in their opening Champions League preliminary fixture.

In the CAF Confederation Cup, two NPFL sides are also in action on Sunday. Kwara United travel to Ghana to face giants Asante Kotoko, who will play their home leg at the Accra Sports Stadium due to stadium approval requirements. CAF has already appointed a full team of Ivorian match officials for the first leg.

Meanwhile, Abia Warriors are at home against Mali’s Djoliba in what will be their maiden appearance on the continental stage.

The return legs for all fixtures are scheduled for the weekend of September 26–28, 2025, with aggregate winners progressing to the next round.
