NWFL Retains Two Group Format for 2025/2026 Season, 20 Teams Confirmed

The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Congress has officially confirmed that the 2025/2026 NWFL Premiership season will maintain its traditional two-group format l, Groups A and B, featuring a total of 20 clubs.
The decision was ratified during the league’s Congress meeting, with participating clubs drawn through a seeding process that ensured balance and competitiveness across both groups.
Defending champions Bayelsa Queens will headline Group A, which also includes Edo Queens, Adamawa Queens, Pacesetter Queens, Heartland Queens, Ekiti Queens, Naija Ratels FC, Ibom Angels, Castmog Ladies, and Rivers Angels.
Meanwhile, last season’s runners-up, Nasarawa Amazons, lead Group B, where they’ll battle it out with Remo Stars Ladies, Confluence Queens, Delta Queens, Sunshine Queens, Ahudiyannem Queens, Dannaz Ladies, Osun Babes, Abia Angels, and FC Robo Queens.
