QPR Tipped to Revive Interest in Super Eagles Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali Ahead of January Window

Queens Park Rangers have been advised to make a renewed push for Nigeria’s first choice goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, when the transfer market reopens in January.

Club analyst and QPR supporter Louis Moir voiced strong concerns over the team’s goalkeeping situation, stressing that the lack of a commanding presence between the posts is undermining the squad’s overall stability.

According to Moir, the current setup is proving costly.

“We are clearly short of a confident, authoritative goalkeeper. A commanding figure in goal settles the entire defensive line. Right now, that missing link is holding us back,” he said.

Nwabali’s name has resurfaced after QPR’s failed pursuit during the summer. The Chippa United goalkeeper, widely praised for his performances with the Nigerian national team, was reported to be open to a move at the time.

Moir believes the Nigerian international offers qualities QPR desperately needs.

“His club level may not be the highest, but if you are Nigeria’s number one and have delivered at major tournaments, you can’t be anything less than dependable,” he noted.

With the club expected to strengthen its goalkeeping department either in January or by the summer, Moir believes revisiting Nwabali as an option is both logical and timely.

“QPR must address the goalkeeping issue. Bringing in someone who can truly own that position could transform our season. Nwabali is certainly a viable candidate.”
