Stanley Nwabali Fires Back at Lege Miami After Criticism of Super Eagles

Written by on 19 — 11

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has issued a strong warning to social media personality Kehinde Adams, popularly known as Lege Miami, following a barrage of online insults toward Nigerian national team players.

Lege Miami had publicly criticized several Super Eagles players in the wake of Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, going as far as mentioning Nwabali’s late father in his commentary.

In response, Nwabali took to his Instagram story, demanding Lege Miami “remove my late dad’s name from your mouth”. He added: “I’m not your regular type of footballer, I go beat you mercilessly. You’re free to insult me, but remove my late dad’s name from your mouth.”

Hours after the post, Lege Miami publicly replied in an audio message. While he apologized for referencing Nwabali’s father, he accused the goalkeeper of being “rude” and resistant to criticism, especially from his teammates.

The controversy comes amid a difficult period for the Super Eagles, who were knocked out of World Cup qualification after a dramatic 4–3 penalty shootout loss to DR Congo in Rabat.
