Super Eagles Star Ola Aina Faces Three-Month Layoff With Hamstring Injury

Super Eagles defender Ola Aina is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury during Nigeria’s recent World Cup qualifier against South Africa.
The Nottingham Forest full-back lasted only 12 minutes before being forced off, with Bright Osayi-Samuel coming on as his replacement. Medical checks have since confirmed that the 27-year-old will need up to three months to recover.
As a result, Aina has been left out of Nottingham Forest’s registered Premier League squad and will not feature again for the club this year. On the international stage, he is certain to miss Nigeria’s upcoming qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin Republic in October, as well as a friendly clash with Venezuela in November.
