Super Falcons Draw Zambia, Egypt, Malawi in WAFCON 2026 Group C Test

Written by on 16 — 01

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been drawn in Group C of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) alongside Zambia, Egypt and Malawi, following the official draw conducted on Thursday in Morocco.

The nine-time African champions will begin their quest for another continental title against familiar and emerging opposition in what promises to be a competitive group. Zambia, one of Africa’s fastest rising women’s teams, headline the group, while Egypt and Malawi complete the quartet.

The tournament, scheduled to hold in Morocco, will feature an expanded 16-team format, marking a new era for women’s football on the continent. All Group C matches will be played in Casablanca, adding a neutral but intense atmosphere to the Falcons’ campaign.

Nigeria, Africa’s most successful women’s national team, will approach the group stage with confidence and caution, aware of Zambia’s recent progress and the unpredictability that Egypt and Malawi could bring.

With qualification to the knockout stage firmly in sight, the Super Falcons will be targeting a strong start as they push for another deep run and a possible return to the summit of African women’s football.
