    Team Lagos Swimming: Dominant Performance Yields 19 Gold Medals in Three Days

Team Lagos swimmers delivered a commanding performance at the ongoing National Youth Games swimming competition, with an impressive 19 gold and 4 silver medals.

Day 1 (31st August) set the tone for the championship as Hafsa Kazeem struck gold in the 100m Freestyle (Girls), while Aidan Dumuje showcased his versatility, winning both the 200m Individual Medley and the 100m Backstroke (Boys). Olaiya Timilehin added a silver in the 50m Freestyle, while Ibidapo Tofunmi dominated the 50m Butterfly (Girls). The relays were no less exciting, with the boys’ 4×100m Freestyle and the girls’ 4×100m Medley both claiming gold.

Day 2 (1st September) brought another wave of victories. Tofunmi continued her golden run with triumphs in the 200m Individual Medley and 100m Butterfly (Girls), while Kazeem sprinted to glory in the 50m Freestyle (Girls). Olaiya Timilehin claimed the 200m Freestyle (Boys), and Megbodofo Teminijesu made his mark in the 100m Breaststroke (Boys). The day ended with double relay dominance as both the boys and girls stormed to gold in the 4×100m Medley Relay and 4×100m Freestyle Relay, respectively.

Day 3 (2nd September) sealed the team’s supremacy. Dumuje once again stole the spotlight, adding the 50m
