Victor Boniface’s Move to AC Milan Collapses After Second Medical

Written by on 24 — 08

Nigerian striker Victor Boniface’s highly anticipated transfer to AC Milan has been put on hold after the Rossoneri decided not to proceed with the deal following a second round of medical examinations.

According to report, the Serie A giants had agreed terms with Bayer Leverkusen over a loan move for the 24-year-old, but concerns raised during medical tests forced Milan to halt the transfer. Boniface will now return to his parent club, Bayer Leverkusen, where he has been a key figure since joining from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise in 2023.

However, reports indicate that Milan have not completely shut the door on the move. A third attempt to bring Boniface to San Siro could still happen later in the window, but only if negotiations are restructured, particularly around the loan fee and payment terms.

For now, Boniface will rejoin Leverkusen’s pre-season preparations as the Bundesliga champions prepare for another title defense. The Nigerian international will also be focused on cementing his place in the Super Eagles squad ahead of upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
