Abuja Set to Host Inaugural Strength Space Tennis Championship in October

Written by on 24 — 09

Abuja will welcome top northern based tennis players this October as the maiden edition of the Strength Space Tennis Championship (SSTC) serves off in the Federal Capital Territory.

The tournament, scheduled for 20–25 October 2025, is being organized in collaboration with the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF) and is designed as an invitational event for male players from the northern region of the country.

According to the organizers, only eight players will feature in the competition. Each participant will receive an appearance fee of N50,000 to help cover logistics, making it one of the few domestic events offering guaranteed support to players.

The championship will also provide attractive prize money, with the winner receiving N400,000, the runner-up earning N250,000, and semifinalists taking home N150,000 each.

The SSTC comes just weeks before the annual Dala Hard Court Tennis Championship in Kano, a fixture widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most competitive tennis events.
