Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has provided a significant boost to both Fulham and the Nigerian national team after receiving clearance to return to action following a hamstring injury.
Fulham manager Marco Silva has confirmed that the Nigerian international has rejoined full training and is in contention to play in Sunday’s Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Iwobi sustained the injury during the first half of Fulham’s goalless draw against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium, which sidelined him for Fulham’s last three league fixtures against Aston Villa, Arsenal, and AFC Bournemouth.
During his pre-match press conference, Silva expressed his satisfaction with Iwobi’s recovery, praising him as one of Fulham’s key players thanks to his adaptability and impact in midfield. According to Silva, the midfielder participated in consistent training throughout the week and has now been fully reintegrated into the squad.
Iwobi’s return is also a timely lift for Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming international friendlies against Portugal and Poland. Under Chelle’s leadership, Iwobi has remained a vital component of Nigeria’s squad, highly regarded for his creativity, composure, and tactical versatility.
