Amarachi Obi, an 11 year-old football talent of Nigerian decent and Thai heritage, emerged as the standout performer at the Malaysia Borneo Girls Cup, guiding Makati Girls FC of the Philippines to a 2-0 victory over Bella FC in the final.
Obi scored both goals in the decisive match, bringing her tournament tally to six, in addition to several key assists. Her impressive display throughout the competition earned her recognition as one of the brightest young talents at the event.
Obi’s mother flew in from Thailand to watch her daughter play live at Penampang Stadium. The emotional reunion provided extra motivation, with the youngster delivering a commanding performance in front of her biggest supporter.
