Nigerian sprint sensation, Alaba Akintola, has taken a bold step in his athletics career by turning professional after officially signing with Spanish sportswear giant Joma Sport. The landmark deal makes him the first Nigerian and African athlete ever sponsored by the brand, a significant milestone for both Akintola and African athletics.

Akintola, who has consistently flown Nigeria’s flag on the global stage, boasts impressive personal bests of 6.60s in the 60m, 10.04s in the 100m, and 20.23s in the 200m. Over the years, he has built a solid résumé that highlights his steady rise as one of Africa’s leading sprinters.
