Nasarawa United have stormed to the summit of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) after Matchweek 6, following a strong run of form that has seen them collect 13 points from six matches.
The Solid Miners lead the standings with a superior goal difference, edging out record champions Enyimba, who sit in second place with 12 points after six games.
Niger Tornadoes are proving early season dark horses, occupying third place with nine points from just five matches, while Katsina United complete the top four despite a negative goal difference.
Defending champions Rivers United are in fifth with eight points but have played only four matches, leaving them well positioned to climb further in the coming weeks.
Elsewhere, Shooting Stars, Wikki Tourists, and Elkanemi Warriors are locked on eight points each, showing how tight the race is in the upper mid table.
At the other end of the table, it’s trouble for Kano Pillars and Kun Khalifat FC, both languishing in the relegation zone with just four points. Rangers International, a traditional powerhouse, are also struggling in 17th place, with only five points from five games.
With the season still in its early stages, the NPFL is already serving up surprises, shocks, and fierce battles both at the top and bottom of the log.
