Arsenal Legend Stewart Robson Analyzes Victor Osimhen vs. Alexander Isak After Champions League Clash

Written by on 3 — 10

Former Arsenal midfielder and respected pundit Stewart Robson has praised Victor Osimhen’s display while also comparing him to Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak following the Galatasaray vs. Liverpool UEFA Champions League encounter.

Speaking on ESPN FC, Robson noted that several top clubs missed a golden opportunity to sign the Nigerian forward, who once again demonstrated why he is regarded as one of the most complete strikers in world football.

“There are lots of big clubs that should have taken him (Osimhen) but didn’t take the chance,” Robson said.

“What he showed two nights ago was great awareness of space. He kept pulling down the side of Van Dijk into the area Kerkez had left, and he was excellent with his back to goal. He was a constant threat.”

Although Osimhen’s only goal on the night came from the penalty spot, Robson stressed that his overall attributes set him apart.

“He’s a top-class player. He’s got energy, pace, strength, and he’s not bad in the air either,” the former Arsenal man added.

When asked to compare Osimhen with Alexander Isak, Robson admitted the Swedish striker currently edges it, but only slightly.

“Osimhen is a centre forward that if you look between Isak and him, I still would say Isak is slightly better, but he won’t be far off,” Robson concluded.
