Super Falcons and Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has opened up about the emotional challenges she’s been facing since her transfer to England, revealing that adapting to a new life away from home has not been easy.
Speaking in a recent interview on Nothing Off The Table, a Nike and Versus production, Nnadozie admitted that loneliness has been one of her biggest struggles since joining the Women’s Super League side.
“Since I moved to Brighton, every day I cry because I feel lonely. I miss my family, my teammates, and coaches. They always try to check up on me to make sure I’m okay,” Nnadozie revealed.
The Nigerian shot stopper, who joined Brighton in July 2025 after five successful years with Paris FC, said being around people who genuinely care has helped her adjust gradually to her new environment.
“I think the most important thing is having people who really care about you. That has helped me a lot, and going to the pre-season with the team also helped me. The unity and everything I saw in the team was really good,” she added.
Nnadozie, known for her leadership and composure in goal, was one of Nigeria’s standout performers at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and has since continued to build her career in Europe.
Despite the emotional challenges of relocating, the 24 year old remains determined to make her mark in the Women’s Super League, expressing her ambition to help Brighton achieve success and win trophies.
“The WSL is one of the best leagues in the world. It’s not going to be easy, but I’m ready to give my best and help the team achieve great things,” she said in an earlier interview.
