NFF Moves to Strengthen Super Falcons’ WAFCON, World Cup Preparations

The Super Falcons have received a major boost ahead of a crucial competitive year, as the Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation has directed its Secretariat to immediately secure top quality international friendly matches for the Senior Women’s National Team during the February 2026 FIFA window.
According to the Federation, the decision is aimed at ensuring the 10 time African champions enter the 14th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco fully prepared, as they chase an unprecedented 11th continental title and qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The 2026 WAFCON is scheduled to take place from 17 March to 3 April, with Nigeria looking to reinforce its dominance in African women’s football through stronger opposition and improved competitive readiness.
