The National Youth Championship in Asaba, Delta State, has entered a decisive stage, with Lagos State emerging as the frontrunner on the medals table.
According to the latest update, Lagos tops the standings with a remarkable 31 gold, 15 silver, and 13 bronze medals, bringing their total haul to 59.
Edo State follows closely in second place, boasting 23 gold, 9 silver, and 14 bronze medals (46 total), while host state Delta occupies third place with 14 gold, 17 silver, and 19 bronze medals, totaling 50.
Abia sits in fourth with 17 medals (8 gold), while Akwa Ibom rounds out the top five with 14 medals (6 gold).
Other notable performances include Bayelsa with 24 medals, Osun with 21, and Kwara with 17, showing strong competition among the states.
So far, 20 states have registered on the medals table, underscoring the depth of talent and competitiveness at this year’s championship.
With more events yet to conclude, the battle for supremacy promises to intensify as teams push for top honors.
