Young Nigerian Defender Chetam Ezenwata Earns First Charlton Athletic Senior Team Call-Up

15 year old Nigerian centre back, Chetam Ezenwata, has taken a major step in his budding career after receiving his first invitation to train with Charlton Athletic’s senior squad in South East London.
Ezenwata has been a standout figure for the Addicks’ youth setup this season, featuring in every Premier League U18 fixture while also making two appearances with the U21 side. His consistency and composure in defence have now earned him the chance to rub shoulders with the first team.
Speaking on the milestone, the youngster expressed his delight:
“I’m super excited to get this call. It’s every youth player’s dream to train with the first team and hopefully make a debut at a young age. With time, I believe I’ll feature in the Championship.”
Football talent clearly runs in the family. Chetam’s brother, Chizzy Ezenwata, is currently on the books of Chelsea’s U18/U21 side and is away on international duty with England U18.
