No club in Europe can afford Osimhen fee, says Celikler

Written by on 15 — 05

Turkish football analyst Serdar Ali Çelikler has raised skepticism about the likelihood of Victor Osimhen leaving Galatasaray this summer, pointing to the significant financial hurdles that any transfer would entail.

Osimhen has been a standout performer for the Turkish giants, netting an impressive 59 goals in just 74 appearances across all competitions. His lethal finishing and consistent performances haven’t gone unnoticed, reportedly drawing interest from European heavyweights like Arsenal and Real Madrid.

Discussing the matter on the Neo Spor YouTube channel, Çelikler emphasized that the financial demands tied to acquiring Osimhen could prove prohibitive for potential suitors. He argued that no European club would realistically pay both the hefty €150 million transfer fee and the €21 million annual net salary being suggested for the Nigerian striker.

He noted these figures make a deal unlikely in today’s market, but he did leave room for negotiation. According to Çelikler, a more feasible scenario would involve lowering the transfer fee to a range of €75 million to €100 million and adjusting Osimhen’s annual salary expectations to around €10 million. Such a compromise, he said, might open the door for serious discussions with interested clubs.

In the absence of realistic bids, Çelikler predicted that Osimhen could stay put at Galatasaray until his contract expires. The former Napoli star’s current deal runs until the summer of 2029, giving the club ample leverage in any potential negotiations.

As speculation continues to swirl about one of Europe’s most in-demand strikers, one thing remains clear: any move for Osimhen will require intense negotiations and likely a significant readjustment of expectations from all parties involved.
