Swedish Allsvenskan club AIK have confirmed that Nigerian youngster Zadok Yohanna is undergoing rehabilitation following the injury he sustained during their 4-2 defeat to Djurgårdens IF.

The 18-year-old winger, who hails from Bauchi State, was forced off at half-time after suffering a knock during the first half of the derby clash. Yohanna had impressed before the break and provided an assist but was unable to continue as a precautionary measure.

In an update published on the club’s official website, AIK disclosed that the former Ikon Allah FC player is currently recovering from a muscle injury at the back of his thigh. The club added that he is carrying out rehabilitation exercises indoors under the supervision of the medical team.

“Is in rehabilitation for an injury in the back of the thigh. Conducts rehabilitation in the gym,” the club stated. The update indicates that AIK are taking a careful approach to the teenager’s recovery in a bid to prevent further complications as he continues his development in Sweden.

Yohanna has emerged as one of the standout young players in the Allsvenskan this season, recording two goals and three assists while attracting interest from several top European clubs. Although his injury initially raised concerns, early indications suggest the problem is not a long-term one, with his return to full training expected to depend on the progress of his rehabilitation programme.
